Gail Ann Bourgeois & JB Davies

The Strathmore Municipal Library is pleased to welcome Mother and Son duo, Gail Ann Bourgeois & JB Davies as November's feature artists.

Gail Ann Bourgeois

Gail Ann, now a long time resident of Alberta, originates from Montreal, Quebec., has lived in four provinces, and traveled coast to coast in this vast and beautiful country.  She has a great appreciation for her natural surroundings and an inherent need to express herself through art.  Commissions include numerous scenes of people's favourite memories... vacation spots, hometown scenes, and pet portraits.  Gail Ann's favourite medium is oil, but also works with acrylic, mixed media, and watercolour to create her favourite subjects: birds of prety, and Canadian and Exotic Wildlife.  She also finds inspiration from her travels in Canada and abroad.

Please call the library at 403-934-5440 for Gail Ann Bourgeois's contact information.

JB Davies

J B Davies grew up in Calgary among a family of artists.  Influenced by their creativity, he began exploring photography with his main focus being on black and white imagery, and has had exhibitions in both Japan and Canada.

In order to explore a freer form of art, he ultimately moved on to acrylic and watercolour painting, as well as sketching and is currently enrolled in Alberta College of Art and Design classes.

Recent shows include a collection of pieces at the Chestermere Fine Art Guild Show (May 2018) and the Strathmore Rodeo 2018 Wine Cellar Art Show (August 2018).  He continues to draw on influence from the beauty of the universe, nature, and geometric forms.
