Deb Klics

Artist Biography

Growing up in Southern Alberta Deb loves to relax while taking in all the beauty of Alberta around her.  Her artistic pursuits began in childhood with painting and dancing at an early age.  After high school, Deb completed a Bachelor of Education Degree with a major in Art and an Early Education Diploma from the University of Lethbridge.

A country girl at heart, she loves to look out over the landscape and see the fields and rolling hills in different seasons and colors. She enjoys depicting local landscapes, gardens and places where you would like to sit and relax with a cup of tea, hear the birds sing, the leaves rustling or the water on the rocks.  Art has always been a form of self-expression in the form of landscape paintings and abstract paintings using tissue, acrylic, writing, wax and gels, lace and pastel.  Painting, mixed media works and creating with collage are a connection to nature and her inner self.

Deb is currently a Kindergarten Teacher and Secretary with the Wheatland Society of Arts in Strathmore. She is also an Active Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
