It is a bittersweet moment to announce that our Summer Reading Program has concluded! It was a major success thanks to our donors and volunteers who helped us provide prizes, materials, and support to our program! We cannot thank them enough. The program would not be the same without them. We had the pleasure of meeting over 140 local kids and teens over the summer and running many crafts, games, and reading stories to them. Some of our favourite moments were planting magic seeds with the K-2s, creating dragons with the 3-4s, making snow globes with the 5-6s, and running an escape room with the teens! Our community Fridays were a blast as well, with the magic show by Christopher Cool being our biggest event.
We’re so glad we were able to run such a successful program this year and we hope your kids had as much fun as we did planning it! Seeing how excited they were when they saw Rapunzel’s hair, our reading goal tracker, had gotten longer as they handed in reading logs always put a smile on our faces.
