Join us as Michael shows you the art of soapstone carving.
Carving a soft mineral known as Steatite otherwise known as soapstone, participants will use water to eliminate dust and various grits of sandpaper to shape and eventually polish the stone to its final result. You will learn some history of carving soapstone, see some examples and then be guided through the process to complete your own piece. The participants get a random piece of stone, there is no right or wrong. Your imagination is the only limit to your experience.

Shred confidential information to protect your personal information from identity theft. Shred-it will accept all paper products, CD's, and floppy disks to shred. Shred-it asks participants to take back their cardboard boxes after shredding.

The workshop includes talking about nutrition, exercise, stress management, and other ways that you can reduce your risk of dementia and protect your overall health.
