Mixed Media Art by Deb Klics

Come with me and sit in the forest. Listen to the foliage and the whisper of the trees.  Lingering in the shadows and  looking for hidden gems amongst the swaying branches….

Come and explore with me…. The woods, forest  and trees all around us. The mystery of the dense brush. The shapes, colors and intrigue amongst the leaves, tree trunks, grass and the sky above… all calling for me to come and explore.

Artist Biography

Deb Klics is an Alberta artist creating acrylic landscapes, mixed media abstracts  and encaustic paintings. Born and raised on a farm in Southern Alberta, Deb currently resides in Strathmore Alberta.  Her art pursuits began in childhood with painting and dancing at an early age.  After high school, Deb completed a Bachelor of Education degree with a major in Art and an Early Education Diploma from the University of Lethbridge.  A country girl at heart, she loves to look out over the landscape and see the fields and rolling hills in different seasons and colors. She enjoys plein air painting of local landscapes, gardens, forests, woods and water.

Deb loves to depict places where you would like to sit and relax with a cup of tea, hear the birds sing, the leaves rustling and the water on the rocks.  Art has always been a form of self-expression in the form of landscape painting and abstract creations using collage and mixed media, incorporating tissue, acrylic, gel medium, photos, writing, pastel and encaustic.  Painting and collage work create a connection to nature and her inner self. Deb currently teaches Kindergarten and is a member of The Wheatland Society of Arts of Strathmore.
